Despite the renewed turbulence caused by Trump’s tariff policies, Italian wine continues to maintain a strong and historically consolidated relationship with the U.S. market. Even with current challenges—declining volumes and values, unfavourable exchange rates, and uncertainties linked to duties—the United States remains an essential destination for Italian producers.
According to Istat data analyzed by WineNews, from January to November 2025 Italian wineries exported 312.2 million liters of wine to the U.S. (-5.7%) for a total value of €1.6 billion (-8% compared to 2024).
In this context, numerous Italian consortia—ranging from Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore to Lugana, Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Abruzzo, Alto Adige, Morellino di Scansano, and Pinot Grigio delle Venezie—along with many renowned wineries, are present in the United States to promote their territories and wines.
They are taking part in the 2026 edition of the “Simply Italian Great Wines Americas Tour”, organized by IEM (International Exhibition Management) and led by Marina Nedic and Giancarlo Voglino, a historic agency specializing in internationalization of Italian wine.
After a first-time stop in Raleigh, North Carolina, on 23 February, the tour moves to Miami, Florida, today, before heading to Houston, Texas, on 2 March in partnership with “Taste of Italy”.
